About Ahlan Madrid
Ahlan means welcome. That's the whole idea.
Ahlan Madrid was founded by Maryleen Nehme, a Lebanese mother raising her family in Madrid. As a parent at an international school, she has been through the school search, the paperwork and the first months of settling a child into a new language and a new city.
It started informally, helping other Arabic-speaking mothers at school: translating in meetings, explaining how the system works, and finding the best healthcare system. The need came up again and again, so she gave that help a structure and a name.
Today, Ahlan Madrid supports Arabic-speaking families from the Gulf and the wider Middle East and North Africa, so they arrive with someone already on their side.

How we work
Your language, not ours
We explain everything in Arabic, so nothing important gets lost between the school, the doctor and your family.
Honest about the limits
We're a concierge, not a law firm or a moving company. When something needs another professional, we say so clearly.
Ordinary Tuesdays matter most
The best move isn't the one that photographs well. It's the one where the school run, the commute and the week simply work.
Who we work with
Families relocated by employers
Families posted to Madrid by large companies, often with a tight timeline and one parent starting work straight away.
Embassy and diplomatic families
Diplomatic staff and their households settling in for a posting.
Business owners and independent movers
Entrepreneurs and families moving on their own terms, who want the practical side handled well.
We work most closely with the parent who carries the transition day to day, often the mother, and especially when she's fluent in Arabic but still finding her way in English or Spanish.
